RUG Feringa building, Groningen: Curtain wall made from highly static VISS profiles
The light-filled Feringa building on the campus of the University of Groningen is a building of great scientific importance, as well as an architectural symbol of innovation and precision. Thanks to highly static profiles from Jansen, glazed facades form the basis for the creation of an optimal indoor environment.
The 240-metre-long building complex is divided into three 22.8-metre-high inner courtyards, whereby the sides facing the campus are completely glazed. With a mullion depth of 280 millimetres, the VISS profiles used ensure both the safe transfer of high dead loads and the absorption of dynamic forces.
