Steel unjustifiably a secondary player

Switzerland appears to be a country dedicated to aluminium. At least this is what comes to mind when you look at the Swiss built environment of recent years. Only few architects opt to build exclusively in steel. Why is that? What is behind this sceptical approach to steel?

Currently, the Hochparterre portal risks a view behind the Swiss architecture facade and shows where steel outplays common construction materials, demonstrating the measurable advantages of steel systems with the help of international projects.
