After welding, many JANSEN tubes go
on to subsequent processing as drawn precision steel tubes in
acoordance with DIN 2393 to produce a semi-finished
product.
How are drawn precision steel tubes
made?
The drawing tag - a section of reduced diameter - is formed at one
end of the semi-finished product.
The tube is annealed in a through-type
furnace at a temperature of about 920°C; to normalise the
structure.
The surface is chemically prepared in the
tube pickling plant for the drawing process.
On the draw bench, the semi-finished
product is drawn through the annular gap between the
precision ground outer die (external tool) and the plug
(internal mandrel) to reduce both diameter and wall
thickness.
After drawing, the tubes are straightened.
Drawing tag and end of tube are
sawn off.
All JANSEN tubes are checked before dispatch to ensure that
they comply with the customer's specifications
