ROMOLD system manholes made of polyethylene for a safe, leakproof sewage system

Description of system

Polyethylene has proved its worth in the construction of conduits for years. Its many excellent properties can also be put to good use in the manufacture of system shafts. By combining ROMOLD shafts made of PE with JANOlen bianco sewage pipes it is possible to construct a completely leakproof sewer conduit system (conduits and shafts).

System components

ROMOLD shafts consist of the individual components shaft bottom, shaft ring and shaft cone.
Being very light in weight, the components can be assembled quickly and easily by hand even in difficult terrain. No heavy machinery is necessary for the transport and installation.
The double lip seal between the individual shaft components ensures that the structure is absolutely tight and resistant to water pressure from both inside and out.

Combishafts

In addition to the individual system components, one-piece ready-made combishafts are also available in a variety of heights.

Available range

Dimensions
The shaft components can be supplied in diameters 500, 625, 800 and 1000 mm.

Combishafts
Combishafts are made in one piece. The are available in various heights from 1.10 to 2.10 m. The pre-formed channels are available in diameters of 160 to 315 mm.

Shaft bottoms
ROMOLD shaft bottoms are available with channels in sizes 160 to 500 mm, and in the shapes shown. Round and flat bottoms are also available.

Shaft structure
Shaft rings are available in heights of 500 and 1000 mm. Shaft cones are available in steps of 250 mm from 750 to 1500 mm.

Shaft covers

For wheel loads of up to 5 tonnes the ROMOLD cover with frame can be fitted directly on top of the cone. Where wheel loads are greater, the cover system (ROMOLD or commercial-type cover) is separate from the shaft. The load is distributed onto the surrounding ground by encasing the shaft in an in-situ concrete ring.

Technical specifications

Material
Polyethylene PE

Laying
Suitable non-cohesive excavated material or natural coarse aggregate can be used for the clean layer and the shaft envelope.
The channels generally have a longitudinal gradient of 2%. The verge height is flush with the crown (channel height 1/1 de).
The inclination of the verge is 5%.
Any change of direction is possible using the gradation of the curved through-channel, and a maximum angle variation of +/- 5° on the conduit.
