JANOlen ottimo - the heavy-duty pipe made of polypropylene with SN 8 ring stiffness

The raw material used for JANOlen ottimo pipes consists of a mineral-reinforced, high crystalline polypropylene (PP-QD). The reinforcing material used is magnesium silicate, which undergoes special processing and is then blended homogeneously into the PP molecule matrix.

The result is a heavy-duty pipe with outstanding advantages in the construction of drainage systems, thanks to this special PP compound. PP pipes are just as easy to handle as polyethylene pipes.

Ring stiffness SN 8

Thanks to the high modulus of elasticity and massive wall thickness, a ring stiffness of SN 8 = 8 kN/m2 is achieved.
This results in a high static load-carrying capacity with little deformation.

The great advantage of JANOlen ottimo is that the pipes can be buried even where a heavy load-carrying capacity is required, so that they don't need to be laid in concrete, yet the safety reserves are high and deformability is low. As well as being simpler to lay, the absence of a concrete envelope has the additional advantage that this is a very economical method, the price of which compares favourably with any conventional pipes.

In this way, JANOlen ottimo combines the positive properties of a plastic pipe with the static properties of a rigid pipe. The pipe remains flexible enough to prevent the type of long-term damage that may occur on rigid pipes, such as cracking, fragmenting, brittle fractures and displacement of the socket.

Abrasion behaviour

It is generally well known that plastic pipes stand up well to abrasion and this has also been confirmed by various investigations conducted by neutral bodies. JANOlen ottimo can be described as abrasion-resistant in the normal scope of application as a conduit for waste water and rainwater. The impact- and abrasion-resistant material PP used for JANOlen ottimo offers an outstanding degree of security for the permanent function of the conduit.

Temperature behaviour

JANOlen ottimo satisfies the increased demands made on sewage pipes in accordance with the new EN standards.
Short periods at maximum temperatures and stress due to changes of temperature are no problem up to 95°C.

Linear expansion

In comparison to other thermoplastic pipes, polypropylene is subject to considerably less linear expansion. JANOlen ottimo is also restricted with regard to linear expansion by the mineral-reinforced bearing coating. Temperature fluctuations during laying are thus no problem at all.
